ITINERARY : Nagano Forest Bathing Retreat

 

Day 1 | Arrival & Welcome Dinner in Tokyo
Arrival and welcome dinner in Tokyo to begin the retreat journey.

Day 2 | Journey to Nagano
Travel from Tokyo to Nagano and transfer to the forest region.

 

Day 3 | Forest Bathing in Tateshina Area
Exploration of local forest trails in the Tateshina region, surrounded by peaceful highland nature.

 

Day 4 | Moss Forests of Shirakoma
Stroll through the enchanting moss-covered forests of Shirakoma, one of Japan’s most atmospheric forest landscapes.

 

Day 5 | Suwa Taisha & Kiso Region Journey
Travel to the Kiso District via Suwa Taisha Shrine and a visit to a traditional boutique kyogi (wooden vessel) craft factory.

 

Day 6 | Akasawa Forest – Birthplace of Shinrin-yoku
Immersive Forest Bathing experience in Akasawa Natural Recreational Forest, known as the birthplace of Forest Bathing in Japan.

 

Day 7 | Forest Train & Sauna Experience in Nature
Scenic ride on the Forest Train followed by a forest sauna experience and continued Forest Bathing in Akasawa.

 

Day 8 | Zazen Meditation & Gorge Forest Bathing
Early morning Zazen meditation followed by Forest Bathing in a local gorge with emerald waters.

 

Day 9 | Nakasendo Trail (Samurai Road)
Trek along the historic Nakasendo Trail from Magome to Tsumago (approx. 9km), walking through traditional post towns and countryside landscapes.

 

Day 10 | Return to Tokyo via Shinkansen
Return journey to Tokyo via bullet train from Nagoya

Experience overview:

We will meet in Japan, where Mayu will guide the group through a carefully curated journey of forest and cultural landscapes, offering gentle walks and immersive nature-connection experiences.

All accommodation, local transport, and meals during the retreat are arranged for you. Please note that this is not a commercial tour package, but a guided Forest Bathing experience. Participants are responsible for their own international travel and insurance.

$8,150 per person – twin share (Best value option for couples / friends)

$8,650 per person – single supplement

A $1,000 deposit is required to secure your place. The deposit is non-refundable due to limited group capacity and advance accommodation arrangements.​​

A reasonable level of fitness is required for forest walks, as terrain may vary from gentle paths to uneven natural trails.
